Group Deep Dive
Does Roblox tax group payouts?
No. The 30% tax happens when the Robux first enters the group funds. Once it's there, distributing it to members is completely tax-free.
Why is the payout button greyed out?
New group members must wait 2 weeks before they can receive payouts. This is a Roblox security feature to prevent account compromising.
One-time vs Recurring Payouts?
Use 'One-time Payouts' for freelancer payments or bonuses. Use 'Recurring Payouts' (percentages) for long-term equity partners (like a 50/50 split between scripter and builder).
Is there a minimum payout amount?
Yes. Roblox requires a minimum of 1 Robux per payout. Amounts below this will be rejected by the platform.
How often can I run payouts?
There is no official limit. However, frequent large payouts may trigger security reviews to prevent fraud or account compromise.
What happens if I make a mistake?
Payouts are instant and irreversible. Double-check all amounts and recipients before confirming. Roblox Support will not reverse accidental payouts.
Where is the payout log?
You can see every Robux distributed in the Configure Group > Revenue > Payouts tab. This audit log is crucial for tracking team payments.
Can I pay myself from my group?
Yes. If you are the group owner, you can use the 'One-Time Payout' feature to transfer group funds to your personal account tax-free.
Is there a limit on group members?
There is no limit to the number of members in a group, but managing payouts for hundreds of people can be tedious. Using percentage-based 'Recurring Payouts' is best for large teams.
Do group items follow the same 30% tax?
Yes. Whether an item is sold by a user or a group, the 30% marketplace fee is identical. The benefit of a group is purely in how the post-tax 70% is managed and split.
